About Glassa Roof Tile: Concrete Strength + Ceramic Beauty

Glassa is a concrete roof tile with an inorganic ceramic coating — combining the strength of a concrete body with the color durability of ceramic. Learn the technology, variants, projects, and advantages.

Glassa is a unique category in the Indonesian market: a concrete roof tile with an inorganic ceramic coating. The tile body is still concrete (strong, durable, stable weight), but the surface is coated with a silicone-based ceramic layer that delivers the beauty and color durability of a ceramic tile. The result: premium-class aesthetics without giving up the strong, economical character of concrete.

At Genteng UI, Glassa is the choice for homeowners who want a premium roof look with long-lasting color — without moving entirely to pure ceramic tiles.

Glassa Coating Technology

Glassa technology was first introduced in Indonesia through a collaboration with KMEW Co. Ltd (a joint venture between Kubota and Panasonic, Japan). Glassa Coating consists of 3 different coating layers produced through 4 heating processes. All Glassa products come with a color durability guarantee.

The Secret of Glassa Color Resistance

The secret is in the material. Glassa Coating uses an inorganic silicone-based material with molecular bonding energy stronger than UV light. As a result, the surface is not easily damaged by direct sun exposure — the main cause of fading on standard roof tiles.

In contrast, organic acrylic paints (commonly used on standard concrete tiles) have molecular bonds weaker than UV, resulting in a far more limited coating lifespan.

Glassa Sunshine

Glassa Sunshine features a 3D effect on its surface. The contours in its design make the roof appearance shift depending on the angle of sunlight and reflections — giving a dynamic, living character. A great choice for homes that want to stand out.

Glassa Soil

Glassa Soil has a clean, tidy design. It fits a wide range of home styles — from minimalist modern to classic — without competing with other architectural elements.
